Job Description:
ROLE IMPACT
This role supports patients undergoing specialty drug therapies by delivering consistent, quality education and counseling. Success in this role ensures adherence to REMS FDA-mandated programs, promotes safe and effective medication use, and sustains high patient satisfaction through proactive engagement and communication. Nurses are key to maintaining regulatory compliance and enabling ongoing patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Counsel and educate patients and caregivers on REMS drugs, including required scripted statements
• Ensure medication adherence, manage refills, collect copays, and coordinate delivery logistics
• Document patient interactions accurately per regulatory and good documentation standards
• Report adverse events and product complaints per manufacturer and FDA protocols
• Maintain current and accurate patient medical and demographic records under HIPAA
• Collaborate with pharmacy teams and providers to ensure comprehensive therapeutic support
• Deliver medication-specific support including verification, education, and call cadence schedules
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
• Active RN license in good standing in NC or TX (compact license accepted)
• Associates degree, Bachelor’s, or accredited diploma in Nursing
• Must obtain licensure in all applicable U.S. states/territories within 3 months of hire
• At least 5 years of nursing experience including 1+ year in acute, inpatient or outpatient settings
CLINICAL SKILL SET
• Adverse event and compliance reporting
• Patient medication education and side effect counseling
• Motivational interviewing
• Documenting per HIPAA and FDA requirements
• Therapeutic adherence support
• Call cadence programming and patient management protocols
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
