Strongly preferred Cardiovascular background and able to handle high call volume. Flexibility for cross training is must.
2+ years of surgery scheduling experience required
**13 week assignment** Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Required Medical Clinic experience. Strongly preferred Cardiovascular background.

Duties
- Schedule surgeries efficiently by coordinating with physicians, patients, and surgical staff using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for procedures in compliance with health insurance policies including Medicare and HIPAA regulations
- Review medical documentation, care plans, and clinical notes to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to scheduling
- Maintain detailed records of surgery dates, patient information, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and billing details
- Communicate clearly with patients via phone and front desk interactions regarding appointment details, preparation instructions, and post-operative follow-up
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure all necessary medical records are prepared and available for upcoming surgeries
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently while adhering to confidentiality policies and medical terminology standards
