$28hr-$30hr DOE
8am-4pm M-F
We are hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse- LVN for a Facility that helps people with IDD. The facility offers academics, Therapy services and career services The LVN will administer medications to approximately 25 people.
- Maintain progress notes for each consumer on caseload, attend quarterly and annual reviews, and document medication and medical status updates.
- Add new medications to the MAR when prescribed, monitor medication sheets, and communicate side effects to foster providers as needed.
- Train dayhab/school staff on medication administration, equipment, and special needs; update training annually or as changes occur.
- Ensure all doctors’ orders are updated yearly or as needed.
- Follow physician orders when performing specialized procedures.
- Teach and follow universal precautions while working with consumers.
- Support and teach consumers' self-help skills where applicable.
- Comply with all ICF program regulations and HCS consumer principles.
- Regularly monitor medication sheets for accuracy at HCS/ALR group homes.
- Coordinate consumer transfers to hospitals, meeting them onsite if family is unavailable; remain available by phone if family is present.
- May travel to Northeast DFW area to visit some members as needed
Active Texas LVN License
BLS
Bilingual Preferred
Must have worked with patients with IDD
Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
