Assignment Details
Schedule:
- 4 x 10-Hour Shifts
- Monday–Friday
- 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Rotating Day Off
Weekend and Float Coverage Required
Position Summary
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the Interventional Radiology Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic IR procedures on both inpatient and outpatient populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-volume procedural environment.
Responsibilities
Perform high-quality interventional radiology procedures in accordance with established protocols
Prepare patients, procedure rooms, and imaging equipment for IR procedures
Assist physicians during complex vascular, trauma, and neuro-interventional procedures
Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout examinations and treatments
Utilize sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention standards
Verify patient information, medical history, consent forms, and procedural documentation
Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation within the electronic medical record system
Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with engineering and support teams as needed
Participate in on-call coverage and respond to emergent procedures
Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain departmental compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Certification
- Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (TX-MRT) License
- Current BLS Certification (AHA Only)
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Trauma-Body experience required
- Neuro-Stroke experience required
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and patient safety standards
- ARRT-VI Certification
- Epic EMR experience
- Level I Trauma Center experience
- Experience working in high-acuity hospital settings
