Description:
The Sonographer/Ultrasound performs ultrasound procedures to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment. The Sonographer/Ultrasound Tech PRN specializes in diagnostic sonography procedures and possesses a technical expertise. The position provides assistance to support ancillary personnel.
Typical Duties:
- Performs procedures as ordered to obtain sonographic images according to department protocols.
- Screens and interviews each patient using designated clinical assessment forms to record information.
- Performs ultrasound procedures to include properly positioning and/or immobilizing patients on exam table, uses appropriate probes and equipment for the exam, observes patient during scans and monitors and reviews video display making the appropriate adjustments to improve picture quality and/or audibility.
