CornerStone Medical is hiring a Lab Manager for a reputable Hospital in Fort Worth TX! We are seeking someone who has Five or more years of experience managing a large staff in a Hospital Lab setting. This is a potential contract to hire position.
Job Summary:
The Manager Lab Services Operations coordinates department activities including budget development, equipment quality control and maintenance, inventory and ordering of supplies, and performance improvement. This job is responsible for all operational functions including hiring, supervising and evaluating laboratory staff. This position will, under the direction of the Director and oversight from the Medical Director, conduct internal auditing to ensure Network compliance with CAP and other regulatory agencies.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
  • Manages laboratory operations in a manner that results in effective provision of care and/or services. Demonstrates competence in applicable professional skills and participates in continuing professional education.
  • Maintains departmental files and records according to state, federal, HIPAA, JCAHO, and JPS guidelines.
  • Directs and supports selection of personnel in assigned areas; conducts ongoing assessments and assumes responsibility for professional growth and development of staff to include a workforce “staff” plan for areas of responsibilities.
  • Develops and monitors processes to ensure that department’s performance is consistent with the organization’s metrics-based management performance system. Ensures that strategies and processes exist to maximize financial resource management, including development and achievement of financial performance objectives. Prepares and monitors annual budget to ensure appropriate performance against objectives; anticipates opportunities for new services and programs and reduction of expenses in the organization.
  • Provides regular meetings and other forms of communication with reporting personnel and other affected staff members including daily huddles and/or internal customer rounding to assure awareness of operational and organization-wide issues.
  • Performs personnel management functions i.e., assess qualifications, hiring, orient and train, supervise, assess skills and competence, evaluate performance, counsel and initiate termination.
  • Maintains interactive communication with patients and families and effectively addresses conflict and opportunities for improvement. Facilitates the flow of communication within the department and across the network. Develops and updates policies and procedures.
  • Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the laboratory.
  • Provides oversight for quality control program in compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Registration as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by American Society of clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or a directly related discipline from an accredited college or university.
                  5 plus years of clinical laboratory experience.
                 Must pass criminal background check, drug test and have up to date immunizations
