Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) w/ Ortho &Spine Experience
Dallas, TX
13 week Contract - Hire
Hours: 6:30a - 3:00p
Pay: $36.50/HR
We are looking for a dependable CST for an upscale Surgical Hospital in Dallas, TX. You will prepare sterile fields, sterilize instruments, and assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating needs during procedures. This role ensures patient safety through strict aseptic techniques, instrument counts, and efficient OR turnover.
Certified Surgical Technologist Job Description
- Pre-operative Responsibilities: Assemble, check, and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments. Prepare the OR by setting up back tables and Mayo stands with necessary supplies. Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping.
- Intra-operative Responsibilities: Maintain a strict sterile field. Anticipate surgeon needs, passing instruments, sponges, and sutures efficiently. Assist with suctioning, retraction, and handling specimens.
- Post-operative Responsibilities: Perform final instrument and sponge counts. Clean and restock the operating room. Decontaminate and prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification: Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Experience: 2 + years Previous clinical experience in an Operating Room setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification
