CornerStone Medical is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for an exciting 13-week travel opportunity in College Station, TX. Work Schedule:
4x10s, 0630-1700 (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri)
CALL REQUIRED: 3-4 weekdays (1700-0700); 1 weekend 1st call and 1 weekend 2nd call (24hrs 0700-0700)
Position Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the intraoperative phase of patient care, assisting surgeons and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and supporting positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Scrub and assist during surgeries while maintaining sterile technique
- Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs throughout procedures
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges according to policy
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and operative site preparation
- Handle and process surgical specimens according to protocol
- Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
- Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures
- Prepare contaminated instruments for transport and sterilization
- Adhere to AORN, OSHA, infection control, and hospital safety standards
Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT
Current BLS Certification (AHA Only)
