Location: Abilene Texas
Applicants should reside within reasonable commuting distance of one or more campuses.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
- roughly $30/hr, working 3 hours daily Mon-Fri
- Monday-Friday
- Flexible class schedule
- Direct hire Independent Contractor
- Start: August 2026
Help prepare future healthcare professionals by teaching Medical Billing & Coding in an engaging classroom environment. This flexible opportunity allows experienced coding professionals to supplement their income while making a meaningful impact on students entering the healthcare field.
Complete curriculum and instructional materials are provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction
- Teach ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, reimbursement, and revenue cycle concepts
- Prepare students for certification and entry-level careers
- Maintain classroom documentation
- Mentor students using real-world healthcare experience
- Foster an engaging learning environment
- Minimum 3 years of recent Medical Billing & Coding experience OR 1 year of instructional experience
- Active CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or another nationally recognized credential preferred
- FBI fingerprinting/background screening required
- ICD-10-CM/PCS
- CPT
- HCPCS
- Revenue Cycle Management
- Claims Processing
- Electronic Health Records
- Insurance and Payer Guidelines
- Healthcare Reimbursement
- Teaching, mentoring, coaching, or precepting experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to relate classroom instruction to real-world healthcare scenarios
