Contract – 6 months
Monday – Friday, 8a-5p
CornerStone Medical is looking for a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a 6 month contract at a state of the art pediatric hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
**Does not have to be interested in full time role for the entire contract. Days a week worked and length of contract is negotiable**
The Clinical Dietitian serves as an expert in current medical nutrition therapy and works as part of an interdisciplinary team. Provides nutrition intervention and education based on the goals, preferences, learning barriers, and readiness of the patient, family/caregivers, and staff. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. Develops, verifies, and revises nutritional therapies to improve care and outcomes for patients and help CCMC achieve its goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritizes patients, assesses patient’s current nutritional status, identifies patient’s nutritional concerns and needs, and provides recommendations for nutrition intervention.
- Assists with selection and provision of food, supplements, and/or formula to individuals with special health care needs.
- Communicates with other members of the health care team concerning the nutritional care of the patient based on current standards of nutrition care and practices.
- Documents in the medical record, maintains patient confidentiality, and honors patient rights.
- Assists patients in achieving nutritional goals, evaluates effectiveness of interventions, completes and assesses nutrient intake analysis, and provides nutrition counseling and education for individuals and groups.
- Participates in inservices, clinical staff meetings, subspecialty meetings, National Nutrition Month, and community activities.
- Performs other duties/assignments as requested by the Clinical Nutrition Manager or the Director.
- Coordinates information between Diet Office, Formula Room, and CCMC’s ancillary and medical staff.
- Assists with creating or revising departmental policies and procedures to improve patient care.
- Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties/assignments as requested by the Clinical Nutrition Manager or the Director.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree of Science preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by the State of Texas
